History
When, in 2004, as Managing Director of Litestructures, Adrian Brooks decided to purpose build a world-class rehearsal studio on the company’s home base manufacturing site in Yorkshire, U.K., he was indeed taking a risk, albeit one in keeping with his, and the company’s entrepreneurial history.
Three decades earlier, Brooks had created the world’s first lightweight, aluminium modular trussing system, Astralite, and developing and extending this revolutionary, innovative concept had kept him in touch with the concert and touring marketplace, most recently with the introduction of LiteDeck, the world’s premier stage decking system.
The LS-Live Studio launched in 2005, welcoming Coldplay as its first client, and was later officially opened by H.R.H. Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. It is now universally acknowledged Europe’s largest, purpose built and best equipped rehearsal spaces. It is also the homebase for the re-branded company, LS-Live, whose extensive facilities and unequalled array of resources allow it to meet the needs of this sophisticated and dynamic marketplace today, and for years to come.
From its central location in the U.K., LS-Live is ideally placed to serve the varying demands for equipment hire, stage and set design and build, touring show rehearsal, customising, and hands-on technical training. This ever- improving resource has already hosted acts like Rihanna, Robbie Williams, Genesis, Kylie, Stereophonics, Lady Gaga, and productions from ITV, Monster Energy, M-Sport, Sitcom Soldiers and Mob TV and many more. It is also home to a revolutionary vocational training enterprise, Backstage Academy, where students can learn stagecraft in a cutting-edge working environment. Now managed by Adrian’s son, Ben Brooks, LS-Live is a potent corporate entity, with a family feel, driven as ever by a ‘can do’ attitude.
The company merged with Acorn Event Solutions in 2011 to become one of the biggest staging companies in the world, with a range of cutting-edge outdoor stages and a vast stock of hire kit, which is regularly replenished and maintained. The merger brought about a new period of development for the company, which saw the creation of the revolutionary large outdoor staging system, the modular Space Roof. LS-Live now has the product ranges, expertise and capability to cover all the staging needs of any scale event.
