The Killers returned to the spotlight in 2012 with fourth studio album Battle Born and a worldwide tour of the same name. The pinnacle of their European tour dates in 2013 was a special headline show at Wembley Stadium on 22nd June, where they upped the visual impact of the show with extra set pieces created by Perry Scenic.
The West Midlands set and scenic projects specialist has worked on the U.S. rock group’s shows in previous years, working with the production team to creatively transform design ideas into high-impact scenic solutions for the stage. The Killers Production Manager approached Perry Scenic’s Jon Perry with an outline brief to create a 5m wide by 5m high Nevada State crest to attach to the centre of the stage’s roof canopy and two large colour-changing 3D lightening bolts to flank the stage on the outer edges.
Perry Scenic turned to LS-Live to supply a custom hire truss circle for the crest in a 5m diameter, and two custom truss structures for the perimeter of the lightening bolts, which were 36’ high by 13.5m wide at their top, fitted with RGB LED round the edges.
